Louise Yingduo Liu
(Vice president, Board Of Directors)
Louise Yingduo Liu is a Chicago-based communication strategist, nonprofit leader, and singer-songwriter who thrives on thoughtful storytelling, creative problem-solving, and team collaborations. Currently a PR Account Supervisor at The Silverman Group, a Chicago-centric public relations boutique, Louise crafts standout campaigns for a range of arts clients, from the iconic Lyric Opera of Chicago to the innovative Third Coast Percussion. She has led music accounts for powerhouses like the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cedille Records, and Chicago Children’s Choir, as well as industry pioneers such as D-Composed and Guarneri Hall. Additionally, she has championed visual art organizations including Hyde Park Art Center and Wrightwood 659.
Born and raised in China, Louise came to Chicago in 2014 after earning a B.A. in Japanese Language Studies from Peking University in Beijing. Her longtime passion and practice in music and theatre inspired her to pursue an M.A. in Arts Administration and Policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Over the years, she has worn many hats in the arts world—whether managing exhibitions and art sales, collaborating with theater artists, or supporting nonprofits—and has built an impressive network throughout Chicago’s cultural scene. Prior to joining The Silverman Group, she gained valuable experience through positions held at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Corbett vs. Dempsey, the Art Institute of Chicago, Alphawood Gallery, Zhou B Art Center, Chicago Fringe Festival, and Nothing Without a Company—a nonprofit theatre where she currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors.
As a musician, Louise was a top 5 finalist in the U.S. region of The Voice of China 2023. She is the lead singer of two bands: Rhythm Rockets, a nearly 30-year-old legacy band specializing in old-school jazz, swing, and rhythm & blues, and Menage a Trio, a folk/jazz/rock quintet that blends genres and surprises listeners. A recipient of the DCASE Individual Artist Grant in 2016, Louise is currently developing her debut solo album, which casts observations of human existence on Earth from an extraterrestrial perspective.
